Las
Isletas
Located just outside Granada in the waters of Lake Nicaragua, Las
Isletas is the collective term for the dozens of small islands formed by
the long-ago eruption of Volcan
Mombacho. Boat tours are available that allow travelers a look at
the culture that has grown on and among the islands, and monkey
sightings are all but guaranteed. Boat guides can tell about the history
of Mombacho’s eruption, the island culture, and the lake itself.
